Grandstream GXP2200: Expand Your Call Control with Up to 160 Programmable Keys

The Grandstream GXP2200 Extension Module (GXP2200EXT) is a purpose‑built sidecar for select Grandstream enterprise IP phones that brings massive programmability and real‑time extension visibility to your desktop. Designed for busy receptionists, call centre agents, managers and power users, it eliminates the need to scroll through digital menus or memorize feature codes by providing dedicated physical keys for every critical call‑handling function.

Clear, Backlit Display

Each GXP2200EXT module includes a 128×384 backlit LCD display. The screen clearly labels each programmable key, and the backlight ensures easy reading in all office lighting conditions. By simply glancing at the display, you can immediately see which extensions are idle, ringing or busy – dramatically improving response times.

40 Programmable Keys per Module (Expandable to 160)

The module comes with 20 physical dual‑colored buttons and two dedicated page keys that switch between two virtual pages. This gives you 40 programmable contacts/extensions per module. For even greater capacity, you can daisy‑chain up to 4 GXP2200EXT modules to a single compatible host phone, delivering a total of 160 easily accessible BLF / speed‑dial keys directly on your desktop.

Advanced Telephony Features at Your Fingertips

Each key can be independently programmed to support a comprehensive suite of call features, including:

  • BLF (Busy Lamp Field) – Monitor the real‑time status (idle, ringing, busy) of other extensions

  • Speed‑Dial – Instantly call frequently used numbers

  • Call Park / Call Pick‑Up – Park a call on an extension or answer a call ringing elsewhere with one touch

  • Bridged Line Appearance / Shared Call Appearance (BLA/SCA) – Monitor and manage shared lines

  • Presence – See whether a colleague is available or away

  • Intercom – Initiate one‑way announcements or two‑way conversations

  • Conference, Transfer, Forward – Handle active calls without navigating through on‑screen menus

Powered by the Host Phone & Easy Installation

The GXP2200EXT receives both power and data directly from the compatible Grandstream phone via the included cable. There is no separate power adapter required unless you are using multiple modules. This plug‑and‑play design keeps your desk clean and simplifies installation. The necessary cable and quick installation guide are included in the box.

Which Grandstream Phones Work with the GXP2200EXT?

The GXP2200EXT is compatible with a growing list of Grandstream GXP and GXV series enterprise IP phones. Confirm your existing phone supports the module before purchasing. The following models are confirmed to be compatible: GXP2140, GXP2160 (undocumented but likely works), GXP2170, and GXV3240.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the primary purpose of the Grandstream GXP2200 extension module, and which phones is it compatible with? +

It adds up to 160 programmable keys to a compatible Grandstream enterprise IP phone for monitoring extensions and one‑touch call handling. Compatible phones include GXP2140, GXP2170, and GXV3240 – and likely GXP2160 thanks to its built‑in expansion port.

Q2: How many GXP2200 modules can I connect to a single phone, and how many total keys does that give me? +

You can daisy‑chain up to four modules. Each module provides 20 physical buttons with 2 pages (40 keys per module), so four modules give you 160 programmable contacts/extensions on a single phone.

Q3: Does the GXP2200 work with Pakistan‘s 220V power supply? +

Yes. The module was tested in 110‑240V countries, and the host phone (which runs on a universal adapter or PoE) negotiates voltage correctly. For three or four modules, a separately sold power supply should be used to ensure stable power delivery, but the module itself receives power from the host phone.

Q4: What does “BLF” mean and how does the GXP2200’s dual‑colour LED feature help a receptionist? +

BLF (Busy Lamp Field) shows the real‑time status of another extension using a coloured light. Each key has a dual‑coloured LED that changes colour based on the monitored extension’s status, allowing a receptionist to see at a glance who is available to take a call.
