Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need a special cable to get 2.5Gbps speed? +
Yes. To achieve 2500Mbps, use at least Cat6 (Category 6) Ethernet cable. Cat5e may work for shorter distances but Cat6 is recommended. Also ensure your router or switch has 2.5G ports.
2. Will this work with my Gigabit (1000Mbps) router? +
Yes. The adapter is backward compatible. It will connect at 1000Mbps (or 100/10) depending on your network equipment.
3. Is this adapter compatible with the Nintendo Switch? +
Yes. The Switch supports USB Ethernet adapters. However, the Switch's USB ports are limited to 1000Mbps, so you will not get 2.5G speeds, but it will work fine at Gigabit speed.
4. Does it work with MacBook Pro M1/M2/M3? +
Yes. macOS has built-in drivers for this adapter chipset. Plug it in and it will appear as a new network interface.
